Special Election Candidate Forum

The recording for the candidate forum has been uploaded and can be viewed and listened to through the link at the bottom of this page. Apologies for the quality of the recording, there was technical issues that did get better as the forum went on, but the audio at the beginning is rough.

A special election candidate forum will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the Candidate Forum is to give the newly combined City of Stacy voters an educational opportunity to hear candidates discuss the issues of importance to them in this election. The event is free and open to the public, and will be available for remote viewing via Webex. The forum will be held in person at the Lent Town Hall (33155 Hemingway Ave).

Members of the League of Women Voters (LWV) will moderate the forum, following the nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format established by the League of Women Voters Minnesota. The League does not endorse political parties or candidates for public office.

Visit our calendar for meeting information.  If you have specific questions you would like to have the candidates answer, please complete the form below, drop them off at Stacy City Hall, or email them to deputycityclerk@stacymn.org.  Questions will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2024. Please note that City staff will forward the questions on the the LWV moderator. LWV reserves the right to screen questions. Not all questions will be asked, and some may be reworded to ensure neutrality. The intention is, in good faith, to select questions that represent the interests expressed by the members of the audience and those who submit questions.

Audience members are asked not to wear or bring campaign material - no hats, signs, etc. Audience members are asked to sit quietly in their seats – no cheering or catcalls.  We will all be civil and respectful of others.
