Service Line Materials Inventory Information

All Public Water Systems must complete and submit to the state a lead service line inventory by October 16, 2024. The City of Stacy has submitted its' initial inventory as of August 2024, and part of the process is providing notice of our findings to the residents of the City. Mailings went out Thursday, September 12th to all residents on City water utility. Most residents received the following notice shown to the left. The 1 location served by a galvanized service line indicated on the notice is the old maintenance garage located on Stacy Trail, and City will replace this line in the future. Ninety-nine residents received an additional notice "Notice to Persons Served by a Lead Status Unknown Service Line", linked below as a pdf.

If you received this additional notice, it does not mean that you have a confirmed lead service line. Our records indicate that the customer owns the portion of the service line from the curb stop to the water meter. The recent water meter replacements completed showed there were no lead services from the curb stop to the water meter in residential homes or businesses that allowed the City entry to their home/business. Because the City did not have records or was not able to visually check the type of material from the water main to the curb stop, your water service was listed as “unknown”. The City of Stacy is required to replace the utility owned portion of the lead service line when a property owner notifies us that they are replacing their portion beginning October 16, 2024.
